Working as an Affiliate Marketer

If your a student in high school (freshman or above), you are most likely looking, or soon will be looking, for your first job. As a collage student you may be on job two or three. If you happen to be a collage graduate, my question to you is; Are you working in the type of job you wanted? Did you get the job you went to school for so long, and studied so hard to get? If yes, that’s great.

high school graduateIf not, don’t feel bad. Most collage graduates don’t find a job in their field of study. (60% according to Forbes) That’s sad. 4-8 years of school down the drain and, you still have to pay off your student loans. Chances are, If you happen to fall into this group of people, your not making enough money to pay all the bills plus your student loans.

What can you do? You could get a second job, if you haven’t already, or you could supplement your income by working as an affiliate marketer. What’s that you ask? Simply put, an affiliate marketer is someone that sells products someone else owns, and gets paid a commission on those sales.

Cool, right?

So, How does one go about becoming an affiliate marketer? Good question.

It’s not hard at all. There are plenty of opportunities online. In fact, the most shopped site online (Amazon.com) has an affiliate program. Right there you have thousands, if not millions of products, you can promote and be paid a commission on. If you’d like to learn more, you can read my post “Introducing Affiliate Marketing”.

If you find just the right product to promote you could make some good money with just one product. The chances of this happening are very slim. My suggestion would be to build your own website. It’s called the Jaaxy Keyword Tool but I like to call it my Online Keyword Ranking Tool, because I use it to find keywords that should make it easy to have my posts rank on the first page of Google. Keywords are what people type into Google and other search engines when they want information. For example: The title of this post “Working as an Affiliate Marketer” is the keyword I’m trying to rank for with this post. If you’re interested in how a keyword tool works check out this post.

I’ve only touched on the surface of what working as an affiliate marketer entails.  There is more to it than what I could go over in one post but rest assured none of it is hard. One last word of advice today. If you’ve read all the way to the end of this post I know your interested in working as an affiliate marketer so be sure to read the other post I’ve linked to.
