The Other day I went to see a marketing friend of mine. He was sitting at the dinning room table with his laptop open. I glanced at the screen as I went by. He was on Google and had typed in “can I increase my website traffic?”.
I love teaching this guy. He listens and then does what I suggest. I don’t know everything and he knows it. But he also knows that if I don’t know something he asks about, it won’t be long before I do.
I asked him how his search was going and was told “not very well”. Just about everything he had read so far had told him to just increase his ad spend or to buy this course. I decided to give him another idea. Are you on facebook I asked him. (I knew the answer before it even came out of his mouth.) Of course, isn’t everybody? M next question was “Do you have a fan page?” His answer was No. I couldn’t believe it.
I mean these days everyone has a Fan Page!
When it comes to online marketing through Facebook, having your own profile page isn’t enough if you want to be successful selling online. So instead of creating just a profile page which has a lot of limitations, create yourself a fan page too.
A lot of people on Facebook have created their own fan pages. The Fan Page was launched by the website in November 2007. Just about everyone, from business owners to celebrities to even the average Joe has created their own fan pages (except this guy) in order to interact more with the people they come in contact with. It’s easy to see why, when you consider what these fan pages offer.

This means you can literally have millions of people following you.

The fan page could allow you to send information to thousands of people with just a click of a button. You can give them information about new products, special events, and other relative information to make your brand more appealing to your fans.
Provides a place where you and your consumers can interact.
You as a marketer should know, the key to getting people to purchase a product is not only to make them see how the product can help them and make their lives better, but to also build a relationship with them. So they will know that you as a marketer are someone who is trustworthy and reliable who won’t fool them into buying duds. Facebook allows you to do this by providing you with an avenue to interact with your audience, giving both parties the option to ask questions and get answers.
Sadly, there are a lot of shady people online that sell, let’s say “bogus” products just to try to make a quick buck. Thankfully, consumers are becoming smarter and more careful. A lot of people now are doing research about a product and the marketer before purchasing said item.
Facebook fan pages add legitimacy to your company, as it can provide your audience with more information about what your company and your products are all about. Furthermore, the possibility of seeing their acquaintances actually following your fan page can make people more inclined to be followers themselves, since someone they know and trust is effectively promoting the page to them.
A Facebook fan page can be customized to make it look more appealing and stand out from all of the other pages on the social networking website.
Getting a fan page won’t actually cost you a cent, but it can lead you to increasing your revenue if used correctly.
This is just one way you can increase your website traffic without spending more money.
